Registration for SLSA Carpe Diem Surf Series Opens

Today opens the registration for the 3rd series of the SL Surfing Association (SLSA) 2013 Season 2.

Dates: Oct 12th (Open) and Oct 19th (Pro) at 11:00 AM SLT
Place: Carpe Diem 2
Wave: HP Jaws
Board: SSi Longboard

Registration is open until midnight SLT, Tuesday, October 15th. Register on the SLSA Forums.

There must be at least 30 people registered, for both the Open and the Pro to be held. If less than 30 people register the events will be combined into one to be held on October 19th. Top 20 ranked surfers, you still need to register! Your registration into the event is not automatic. This event is open to any SLSA member, even if you have never competed before (you will be competing in the Open event).

In case you aren’t glued to the SLSA forums, I got scooped, but that made my life easier as I could just pull the results from there. 🙂 It was a great contest, a lot of fun, and one day I will learn to master the HP5 board.  

I apologize for not having a lot of pretty pictures for you all, but I marshaled this event and the typing was fast and furious and didn’t give any time for picture taking. By the way, working an event and training to be a marshal and/or judge is something everyone should consider.

Island Sea Dreams . Stop #2 in the SLSA second season of 2013. The SLSA Island Sea Dreams HP5 competitions will be held on Sept. 14th and 21st. It’s a beautiful place. New SLSA Board Members Announced

My apologies for the late news, but I am one of the unlucky few that doesn’t receive SLSA group notices. Go figure!

From SLSA Group Notices, dated Sept 2nd:

We have our official tally from the voting for SLSA Directors yesterday. And here it is: Bobbi LaSalle: 34 votes, Robin Mapp: 30 votes and Johnny Whadd: 24 votes. A big thank you to all three of our candidates for being willing to take on the job of SLSA Director and to all of our voting members that particpated. Congratulations to Bobbi LaSalle and Robin Mapp as our new directors for SLSA. Thank you!
