2014 Season 1 Awards and Recognition

The SLSA 2014 Season 1 Awards and Recognition party was held Saturday , June 28th at the Hotel Del Coronado.  We were unfortunately unable to attend but a few of the awards and recognition are listed here:

The 2014 Season 1 Awards Ceremony will be held this Saturday.

That is right next door to Solace Dreams, SLSA home sim.

Blue Hole

Vally Lavender has done it again, only this time, not a surf sim, but a beautiful dive and scuba spot. While I was wandering Blue Hole around and taking pictures, I asked her about the sim.

 

She states that it’s not that she’s tired of surfing at all but that she was just bored with building surf sims. This sim has many different things to offer such as

*four beautiful waterfalls with romantic spots

*the sim itself is surrounded by sand and coral making a circular effect. In the middle is the “blue hole” of water where all the sea life dwell. You will be amazed at the number of sea life located at BLUE HOLE. It is fashioned in a sense after the real life BLUE HOLE in Belize Central America which was my inspiration.Well in all honestly my good friend Linear thought of it and I thought it was a great idea!

*Also on the island is the BLUE HOLE BAR hosting DJ’s and Live Music., plenty of chairs and blankets for sunbathing, canoes to use for free, plus more fun for your recreational use.

*Don’t have diving gear? Although not mandatory; you can outfit yourself at our store which sells HEPS, Oceania Maoli, and Xtreme goodies.

Although it’s a diving spot; I call it my lover’s spot too since it is so romantic. Take a stroll around the sim and you’ll see what I mean and no telling what you’ll find underwater!

Surprisingly for a sim less than a month old we’ve had about 100 visitors thus far. Come See for Yourself. Full Nudity is NOT permitted on the beaches but we do allow nude swimming and we’re not opposed to bathing suits without tops. Be respectful of your fellow divers and don’t perv them.

Oh and note that within the next two months a sim will be added next door for surfing and rental homes.

It is truly beautiful and you should stop by and check it out. I am anxious to see what she adds next door for our surfing pleasure.

SLSA 2014 Season 1 End of Season Nomination Time

Say that three times fast.

At the end of the season members of the SLSA get together to celebrate the season and honor people who have gone the extra mile. Nominate the people you feel most deserving of the following awards. Click on the link to go to the SLSA forum post where you can add (or second) your nomination.

Hall of Fame

The SLSA Hall of Fame, is a fun way to acknowledge outstanding sustained excellence and contribution to the sport of Surfing in Secondlife. It was originally created as a way to  not only those people that have shown excellence in their surfing skill over a sustained period, but also to those that contribute in a significant way to the facilitation, organization, development and enjoyment of Surfing as a positive and character building experience in Secondlife.

Each Season the top two placing surfers for the season overall are inducted, the Season Champion and Runner-up, are added as a tribute to their sustained participation and their performance across the length and breadth of the waves, boards and conditions that were a part of the season.

Nominations are due by Tuesday June 17th at Midnight SL time.

Angel Award

The Angel award is designed to recognize the person (male or female) that helped make this season a success, by contributing their time, effort, or simply their encouragement of surfers and staff, cheerfully and without seeking any recognition for themselves. They are the person that helped you and many others to have a fun season.

Nominations will Close at Midnight Saturday, June 21st.

Sportsperson Award

The Sportsperson award recognizes the person that you feel displayed exemplary sportsmanship, displaying grace in victory or defeat, providing encouragement within and outside their own team, or making a sacrifice to assist another to the detriment of their own place. They are this season’s ‘good sport’.
